Finding freedom from the fear of failure

Finding Freedom from the Fear of Failure

Failure is a natural and beautiful part of reaching our goals. It arises when we take the risks necessary to expand our lives, ourselves, and our world. This is why a fear of failure can significantly hold us back. It can keep us bound to a past we no longer want to be a part of.

The fear of failure is so common because we see our shortcomings as a negative reflection on ourselves. We say that we are a failure, not that something we did failed. We identify with failure. Since failure is a word so saturated with shame, we begin to identify with shame itself.

We put ourselves down every time we fail. We blame ourselves, berate ourselves, and look down on ourselves. But, failure doesn’t warrant this. It demands something much more pure, inspiring, and hopeful from us. Failure truly demands joyous celebration.

A fear of failure only arises when we forget to celebrate the leap of faith we took

We often overlook that failure means we just invested in our dreams and goals. We took a leap of faith and shot towards our greatest aspirations. Sometimes we weren’t able to cross the divide, but the point is that we tried. Failure is a testament to our willingness to try, our willingness to change our lives for the better.

Failure is not a poor reflection on ourself. It’s something we should celebrate, honor, and respect as a natural part of our journey.

This episode of Arien Inspires is all about the beauty of failure. You will be able to see the strength, resilience, and self-love that failure holds. Each time you make a mistake or you miss the mark, you’ll realize it is worth celebrating. You will no longer feel the need to shame yourself for your shortcomings. You will no longer have a fear of failure.

What was your greatest failure? How did it impact your life in a positive way?

I want to leave you with a reminder that you have always tried your hardest. There have been times you have made mistakes and things have not worked out well, and that’s okay. It’s happened to me too and it will continue to happen to us both. But, each and every time we fail, we did something self-loving. We took a calculated risk that had the potential to bring us one step closer to our dream life.

Failure is worth celebrating. Every single part of your journey is worth honoring.

Thank you for the reminder that failure is a natural part of growth. We don’t typically fail when we are inside of our comfort zones doing the stuff that we always have. Failure comes when we stretch. When we shoot for something bigger and better than we ever have. Here’s to failing forward.
