Uncover Your Joy is a peer support website for survivors of abuse, meaning it was written by and for survivors. I, Arien, am not a trained therapist, so I cannot diagnose or treat mental illness in any form.
This means that, in order to do one-on-one coaching work with me, you cannot be at risk of a mental health crisis. The means you either have no diagnosable mental illness, or you have been considered stable (ideally by a trained professional) for at least two years.
This peer support is not the same as, or a substitute for, mental health treatment.
If you're not sure if you're the right fit, feel free to reach out to me at [email protected]!
The Prosperity Path program is also peer support, but in the form of an eCourse and membership. These are the recommended guidelines regarding mental health and the program.
If you are at risk of a crisis (meaning you have had an episode where you could cause harm to yourself or others in the past two years), this course is not for you.
If you want to venture into this, and are unsure about your stability, make sure you have discussed this with a mental health professional and they agree this program will be a good complement to your treatment plan.
If your treating professional wants to learn more, you can forward them to this website or to me directly at [email protected]
Most, if not all, clients I work with partner with trained therapists alongside the one-on-one work I do. I always encourage this relationship--as the services through Uncover Your Joy are complementary to mental health treatment, not a replacement.
I am strict about the boundaries I keep regarding this, and am open to suggestions on how to navigate this grey area too.
